This traditional Irish jig is known under many different names, including “Saddle the Pony“, “Rough Diamond”, and “The Priest's Leap”. Its earliest known appearance is however as an untitled tune, namely in R.M. Levey's Second Collection of the Dance Music of Ireland, published in 1873.
