- Klavier
A keyboard instrument; usually, a piano. - MIDI Acronym for “Musical Instrument Digital Interface”; technology standard that allows networking of computers with electronic musical instruments.
- con grazia
“With grace”. - technique The mechanical aspect of performing a composition.
- theme The musical basis upon which a composition is built. Usually a theme consists of a recognizable melody or a characteristic rhythmic pattern.
- rhapsody A one-movement work that is episodic yet integrated, free-flowing in structure, featuring a range of highly contrasted moods, colors and tonalities.
- buffo
Comic, humorous. - morendo
Literally, “dying away”. Gradually diminishing in volume and tempo, fading away. - calma
Calm. - masque
English genre of aristocratic entertainment that combined vocal and instrumental music with poetry and dance, developed during the 16th and 17th centuries. - spianato
leveled, even, smooth. - restez
A directive to remain on a note. - ensemble
A group of musicians that perform as a unit. - tanto
